First Games on Friday will Start no earlier than 2:00PM and may be later.

Age Groups:   
U7/U8 Jamboree (Participation award, no points, 3 games only)
U9 – U19 Boys and Girls Competitive. 

Entry Fee:

U7 – U8 $325 per team.

Time Range Fee:
$35 Fee to secure first Friday game after the first 2:00PM games. Put request in “Comments” section of registration for preferred time range. You may request 4,5,6,7,8PM Game time but Fee Only Guarantees your game will start at or after 3PM. Time Range Slots are Limited, priority to most distant traveling teams. For “Coaching Conflicts”, specify in Comments of registration and we will do our best to assist, No Guarantees.

Field Locations:            
Dixie State University Legend Solar Field/Lower Solar/Encampment Mall, High School Turf Fields, Little Valley Soccer Complex, Centennial Park, Sullivan Soccer Complex, Sandtown Park, Unity Park, Ivins and Local School Fields in the Saint George, Utah area.

Eligibility:          
USYSA Affiliated Teams Ages U9 – U19 (16-18 yrs old).

U7/U8 – 4 v 4 teams six (6) Players total.
U9/U10 – 7v7 teams twelve (12) Players total, *unlimited guest players.
U11-U12 – 9v9 teams fifteen (15) Players total, *unlimited guest players.
U13-U19 (HS is 16 – 18 yr olds) – 11v11 teams eighteen (18) Players total, * five (5) guest players max.

Selection:             
Tournament Board reserves the right to accept or reject applications to provide the best level of play and balance of teams for the tournament.  A first received, first reserved space will be followed, however if the board deems it necessary, they will accept other teams, based upon the above conditions and to complete brackets as optimal as possible.

Team may be checked in by the coach, team manager or parent of team. Once team has checked in, the roster is frozen and no additional players may be added. No Double/Multi Roster of players (UYSA rule).  

LOCATION: Dixie State University Solar Stadium 500 S. 700 E.(Habibian Bldng. N. of Football Stadium). 

Items to Bring:

1 – Official UYSA Affinity Team Roster: One (1) copy needed to compare with Tournament Roster.

2 – Tournament Roster with photos: Five (5) copies needed. This roster MUST list every player and coach who will be playing/coaching for your team in the tournament, including guest players. Copies will be stamped, One (1) copy will be kept by the tournament committee, Four (4) copies will be to take to each game played.   

3 - Specialty Player Action Form. Signed UYSA Specialty Player “Guest” Form required. (No Club Pass).

Out of State Teams will also need:

1 – Official roster. Signed by District/League Registrar. Out of state teams will need to provide a certified roster from their registrar.

5 - Current player cards. For each player and coach participating in the tournament.

6 – Travel papers. Out of state teams only.

Out of State Teams or Players:
No team, or player, shall play without proper travel authorization from your state, to include USYS Application to Travel with the appropriate Approval signature, rosters, laminated player passes and medical releases.

Bracketing Format:   
       
Bracketing of teams, ideally in groups of four, will be determined by the tournament committee/Scheduler. Scheduler looks at team league records, strength of team and matches teams for best possible competition. No appeals of the tournament bracketing will be allowed. All teams are guaranteed three games, with the two top teams in the age division playing a championship match.

Four Team Divisions (Ideal Bracket) – Four teams play three round robin games, top two advance to a championship.  Depending on registration, it is possible that age/gender groups may be combined, if less than four teams in one bracket those teams will be given opportunity to play up or have a team from a lower bracket play up to complete the bracket, coach approval required and player age rule compliance. If teams elect not to play in a bracket with teams from a different age/gender group they can ask for a full refund.

Five Team Divisions - – Each team plays all other teams in the division for a total of four games. Champion and Finalist determined by most and second-most points earned. No semi-finals and no-finals.

Six Team Divisions – Teams are split into two brackets of three (3) teams. Teams will cross over and play each team in the opposite bracket for a total of three games. The two teams, irrespective of group, with the highest points will advance to the Final game to determine the Champion.

Seven team Division – Each team plays two (2) matches and then teams are seeded one through seven (1-7) based on total points earned in the first two matches. For the third game, the second-seeded team plays the seventh seeded team, three vs six and four vs five. The top seed gets a bye into the semi-finals. Winners of the play-in games go to the semi-finals. Winners of semi-finals meet in the Championship. In this type of Division, a team could lose its first two games and still have a chance at winning the Championship.

Eight Team Divisions – Two brackets, Gold / Silver. Championship game for each bracket.

Awards:                  
First and Second place awards in each division U9 – U18. Top Scorer/Top Keeper award for 11 v 11 teams.

Awards Ceremony
Immediately following the Championship/Final game at various locations. Teams will be notified by email.

REGISTRATION AND RULES:

*Coaches are recommended to keep a Binder handy at all games to include the following.

Official Tournament Roster - Copies of approved Tournament Roster printed from the Affinity program. Out of state teams will need to provide a certified roster from their registrar.

Participant Registration Form – A copy of each player’s UYSA/USYSA signed, in two places, registration form. Player will not be medically treated without signed medical and risk release. UYSA rule.

Player Card – A coach MUST have a current player card for each player and coach unless your league uses the Affinity roster with pictures. Referee will want to see it.

Concussion Information Sheet – Checklist for Coaches/Parents/Youths. Having it handy will prove beneficial.

FIFA Laws/Rules for the game shall apply as modified by USYSA and UYSA as described herein.

Determining Winners:
Teams will be awarded points in pool play as follows:
     
•        Three (3) points for each win. 
•         One (1) point for tie awarded to each team.  
•         Zero (0) points for each loss.
•         Forfeit is scored as 0-1 loss, three (3) points awarded to opponent.
 

All game results will be posted on website soon after match, once the referee has provided the Field Marshal with the game report.  Scores will not be accepted from players, coaches, or spectators. 
 
Tie Breaker:  

In the event of a tie, between two or more teams, at the end of preliminary play, the winner(s) will be determined in the order as follows, by continuing down the list, in its entirety, for all teams involved:

1. The winner in head-to-head competition (where applicable).
2. Goal differential – Highest goal difference (goals for minus goals against) with a maximum of four (4) goals difference per game counted both for and against. Ex: score 8-3, the calculation would be +4 goals for the winning team, -4 goals for the losing team.  If score was 6-4, the calculation would be +2 goals for the winning team and -2 goals for the losing team.
3. Fewest goals allowed.
4. Most total wins.
5. Most shut-outs.
6. FIFA kicks from the penalty mark will be taken. (If three teams remain tied, a coin toss will take place between the three teams, the two tying teams in coin toss will do PK’s and the winner of those two will do PK’s against the third team).

Home Team:           
The home team will be the team listed first on the game schedule. The home team will be responsible for providing 3 game balls.  The home team will be required to switch to alternate jerseys to accommodate the color conflict as declared by the referees.  All teams must have alternate jerseys. The home team will have a selection of the side of the field for its team and spectators.

Forfeits and Byes:
A team that fails to report ready to play within 5 minutes of the scheduled kick-off time will forfeit the game; they will also forfeit their remaining games. The game will be scored, 0-1, the other team will be awarded 3 points. 

Drop outs:   
If a team drops out after the schedule is published, no money is refunded.

Protests/Disputes: 
No protests will be allowed or considered. The Head Referee of the match will resolve any player age disputes if brought to his/her attention prior to or during the match. Any further disputes, whether of a game, player, coach or schedule, shall be settled by the Tournament Director. That decision shall be final.

Duration of games, Overtime, Ball Size and other information are as follows:

U7 – U8 Two 20 minute halves. Size 3 Ball. Participation only, no scores kept.

U9 - U10
Pool play 20 minute halves. Size 4 Ball.
Final game 25 minute halves. 10 minutes of overtime for ties, then PK’s.

U11 – 12
Pool play 25 minute halves. Size 4 Ball.
Final game 30 minute halves. 10 minutes of overtime for ties, then PK’s.

U13 – U16
Pool play 30 minute halves. Size 5 Ball.
Final game 35 minute halves. 10 minutes of overtime for ties, then PK’s.

U17 – U19
Pool play 35 minute halves. Size 5 Ball.
Final game 40 minute halves. 10 minutes of overtime for ties, then PK’s.

No over time periods will be played in preliminary rounds.
Half time for all games will be 5 minutes.

 Field Check-In:

The Referee will check in each team up to 30minutes, but no later than 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the game. Failure of a team to report within 5 minutes of a scheduled game will be considered a forfeit by that team. *The tournament may adopt a policy in which teams are checked in simultaneously with Referee asking coaches if their players are properly equipped and if coach has any disputes in regards to opposing teams players age. (This procedure is to help expedite before game check in and to resolve any conflicts).

Players Equipment:

It will be up to the referee’s discretion to allow a player wearing an orthopedic cast or hard brace to take the field.  Shin guards are mandatory for all players.  
 
Team & Fan seating:

Teams and fans of same team will sit on one side of the field opposite each other. Players on right side of touch line and their respective fans on left side of touch line and same side of their team.

Suspended Games:
The referee can suspend or terminate a game for misconduct or safety concerns regarding weather conditions. Games may be cancelled, by request from facility/city/school, due to weather. There will be NO REFUNDS. 

Coaching:
All coaches have total responsibility for the conduct of their player, substitutes, friends and spectators at all times.  Coaching form the sidelines is permitted provided:

1.       No mechanical devises are used
2.       The tone of voice is instructive and not derogatory
3.       No coach, player or spectator uses profanity or incites, in any manner disruptive or abusive behavior

Cautions and Ejections:
ZERO TOLERANCE is enforced. A player who has been ejected shall not be allowed to participate in the next scheduled game.  Any player or coach who assaults a referee, Field Marshall or tournament official will be expelled from the tournament, and the proper legal authorities may be contacted. The Tournament Director/committee will eject players, coaches or spectators from the tournament for any behavior they deem inappropriate. Cards can be issued to coaches for unruly spectators and coaches can be ejected from the game.  Unruly spectators will be asked to leave the premises. Failure to comply may cause a team to forfeit the games.

Dangerous Weather/Field Conditions: 
In case of dangerous weather or field conditions, games may:

1.       Be shortened
2.       Go to FIFA kicks from the mark
3.       Be canceled

Injury and/or Delay:
Any conditions resulting in delays of the game may cause shortening of the game in order to maintain the tournament schedule.

Retrieval of Player’s cards due to Red Cards:
It is every coach’s responsibility to retrieve his/her player’s card which had been pulled due to a red card given. The player cards may be retrieved from the Tournament Director before the end of the last game played of the Tournament.  All left over player cards will be sent to the UYSA office, coach must retrieve the card from there.
